Steven Tignor is a Senior Scientist in Analytical Research & Development at Merck. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2016 studying material properties and degradation pathways of fuel cell materials and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University in 2020 studying novel organometallic electrocatalysis mechanisms.

Since beginning at Merck in 2020 he has led several efforts in understanding nitrosamine formation and inhibition within drug products. His research interests range synthetic organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and materials science. Currently, Steven is heavily involved in both drug substance and drug product development at Merck, contributing significantly to internal impurity risk assessments, CMC authoring, and regulatory interactions.
