Kirsten Markgraf studied Chemistry at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and graduated in Organic Chemistry in cooperation with the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1996.
She received her Doctoral degree in Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. She joined Celanese in 2004, after working in the R&D department of Bayer AG, and is currently leading the product development team in Europe.
With more than 10 years of experience in engineering polymers in different roles in the T&I department of Celanese, she has presented several papers and holds numerous patents. Her current research interests are related to engineering thermoplastics and elastomers. She works closely with customers and the marketing team to create new products and technologies to meet the current and future demands of the industry.
