Dr. Cabal took his Bachelor of Science in Mechanics and Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia.

Following his undergraduate work, he worked on ocean circulation models at Havana’s Institute of Oceanology, in Cuba. He completed a Master of Science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and his Ph.D. at the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario, Canada, both in Applied Mathematics. He spent seven years with the Eastman Kodak Research Labs in Rochester, New York, USA, applying mathematical models in the design and optimization of inkjet printers.

In 2006 he took a position at Merck Research Laboratories in Pennsylvania, USA. At Merck, he has worked primarily on mathematical models of Oncology, Immunology, Pulmonary Hypertension, Asthma, COPD, and Osteoporosis.
